W. Review

w_movie_posterPlot: Oliver Stone’s biographical take on the life of George W. Bush, one of the most controversial, secretive, cynical, and ruthless president in USA history, chronicling from 1967 to his wild and carefree days in college, to his military service, to his governorship of Texas and oil businesses, leading to his 2000 candidacy for president, his first turbulent four years to his 2004 re-election campaign.

I personally found the film rather dull and boring.  Oliver Stone’s depiction of George W. Bush’s life is rather interesting, but makes me wonder how much of it is true and how much is for show.  Josh Brolin is pretty awesome as W., not amazing, but I can’t imagine who else could have played him so well (other than Will Ferrel haha).

I give this film *** and recommend it for anyone 14+.  More specifically, anyone interested in politics and/or film.
