I’ve Loved You So Long – Review

longtemps_jetaime_posterthumbnail188934113Plot: Juliette was 15 years in prison. Confronted with the unexpected goodness of her younger sister Léa, who makes Juliette a part of her family, very slowly breaks up the Juliette’s ice and bitterness and she carefully opens up.

I didn’t have a great interest in seeing this French film directed by Philippe Claudel when it came out, but it just so happened to be shown on the plane.  All I can say is…I was glued.  (Don’t watch the trailer…doesn’t do it justice).

The story slowly unravels over the course of 2 hours as to why the mysterious Julliette was in prison for 15 years.  Although the film could be called ‘slow’, I loved it and never wanted it to end.  On top of this, I haven’t stopped thinking about it since I watched it…which is always a good sign.

I highly recommend this film for all people ages 15+ who don’t mind subtitles (it’s worth it I promise!).

I give this film **** solid stars.

Ps. Anne Scott/Adopted God Mother recommended this film!
