Weird Science – Film Review

i3wcupPlot: Two unpopular teenagers, Gary and Wyatt, fail at all attempts to be accepted by their peers. Their desperation to be liked leads them to “create” a woman via their computer. Their living and breathing creation is a gorgeous woman, Lisa, whose purpose is to boost their confidence level by putting them into situations which require Gary and Wyatt to act like men. On their road to becoming accepted, they encounter many hilarious obstacles, which gives the movie an overall sense of silliness.

I am a great fan of 1980s films, especially ones made by John Hughes featuring Anthony Michael Hall!  This one was not as good as some of the other 1980s  films I have seen, but I enjoyed it immensely.

It’s your basic teenage boy comedy about adolescence, growing up as a geek, and sexual identity.  I recommend this film to anyone who likes 1980s comedies, silly jokes, etc.  I give it 3/5 stars.

I recommend Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club for 80s films..
