Another Divorce!

Filed under: Celebrity — smackamack @ 6:51 pm

I am sad to announce that Bradley Whitford (West Wing) and Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle) have filded for divorce ūüė¶ ¬†They have split after 16 years of marriage with 3 children ages 12, 9, and 6.

I find this so sad ūüė¶ ¬†I liked both of them and really thought they would make it!

Bride Wars – Film Review

Filed under: Film Review — smackamack @ 10:48 pm

Plot: In Manhattan, the lawyer Liv and the school teacher Emma have been best friends since their childhood. They both are proposed to by their boyfriends on the same day and they plan their wedding parties in Plaza Hotel, using the services of the famous Marion St. Claire. However, due to Marion’s secretary’s mistake, their weddings are scheduled for the same day. None of them agrees to change the date and they become enemies, trying to sabotage the wedding party of the rival.¬†

The film stars Kate Hudson (who looks just like her mother!) and Anne Hathaway (who is going to star as Judy Garland soon!)…

My dad got this…I would never rent this. ¬†At let me tell you…I was right. ¬†This film was horrific. ¬†Terrible acting, simplistic plot, shitty, shitty, shitty. ¬†

I know there are some girls who fantasize about their wedding days…but come on, this is a little over the top and just plain sickening. ¬†

I do not recommend this…1/5 stars.

Nurse Jackie – TV Review

Filed under: TV Review — smackamack @ 10:44 pm

Plot: A nurse struggles to find a balance between the demands of her frenetic job at a New York City hospital and an array of personal dramas.

My mum was randomly watching, so I decided to stick around…well, I’m glad I did! ¬†I was really impressed with this new show starring Edie Falco (Sopranos). ¬†The show centers around Falcos character Jackie, a nurse at a hospital in the center of NYC. ¬†She is married, with kids, but sleeps with her coworker the pharmacist for her pain killers she snorts daily for her back.

The show is highly entertaining, provocative, well scripted, and high quality.  Nurse Jackie airs on Showtime Mondays at 10:30pm after Weeds.

The Hangover – Film Review

the-hangover-01Plot: A blowout Las Vegas bachelor party turns into a race against time when three hung-over groomsmen awaken after a night of drunken debauchery to find that the groom has gone missing, and attempt to get him to the alter before his wedding day. In 48 hours, Doug is scheduled to walk down the aisle, effectively ending his reign as a rowdy bachelor. Realizing that this is their last blow out with their best friend, Doug’s groomsmen organize a Sin City bachelor bash he’ll never forget. The next morning, the groomsmen come to in their Caesar’s Palace suite to find a tiger in the bathroom and a six-month-old baby tucked away in the closet. Unfortunately, Doug is nowhere to be found. With no memory of the previous night’s transgressions and precious little time to spare, the trio sets out on a hazy attempt to retrace their steps and discover exactly where things went wrong. Will they find Doug in time to get him to the wedding back in Los Angeles, or will his bride experience the sharp sting of disappointment when she walks down the aisle to discover that her future husband is nowhere to be found?

thehangoverpic16This movie looked totally shit in the trailer…generic, stupid, etc. ¬†However, I have to admit, I loved it! ¬†The film was just a whole heap of fun! ¬†I don’t want to give anything away, but the actors were great, the writing was funny, and it had some really clever pieces to it!

If you liked Old School you will probably like this film. The film is by the same director, and also about a group of adult men reconnecting with their wild teenage self. ¬† I thought it was just hilarious. ¬†I don’t recommend the film to anyone who doesn’t like stupid comedies…because that’s what it is in the end. ¬†I recommend this film for anyone 16+ who enjoys films like Old School. 4/5 stars.

Gender Reassignment

Sonny and Cher’s Daughter Chastity Bono has begun the process of transitioning from female to male. ¬†Chasitity will now be known as Chez.

Although this must be difficult for her, and I can’t imagine how difficult this decision has been for her and I hope the public and media don’t target her.
